WHITE-CHEEKED PINTAIL
Anas bahamensis
A rather large, buffy-brown duck
with striking white cheek patches extending down the neck. The
bill is bluish bill with red near base. The body is heavily
speckled below. Females are slightly paler than males. Look
for them in Bubali (well
worth the trip for this beautiful bird) and in shallow pools
created by heavy rains.
