The chuchubi, as it is called
in the local papiemento language, is one of the most loved and
most obvious species you’ll encounter on the island. Their
loud, pleasing song
often wakes you in the morning, as they typically begin singing
before first light. The Tropical Mockingbird is gray with a
long, white-tipped tail and is about the size of the closely-related
Northern Mockingbird familiar to many North Americans (Northern
Mockingbirds don’t make it this far south.)
