The chuchubi, as it is called in the local papiemento language, is one of the most loved and most obvious species you’ll encounter on the island. Their loud, pleasing song often wakes you in the morning, as they typically begin singing before first light. The Tropical Mockingbird is gray with a long, white-tipped tail and is about the size of the closely-related Northern Mockingbird familiar to many North Americans (Northern Mockingbirds don’t make it this far south.)
