MAGNIFICENT FRIGATEBIRD
Fregata magnificens

These large, dark birds cannot be confused with any others, with long, bent wings and deeply forked tail. Frigatebirds hang in the air, sometimes at dramatic heights, and often trail fishing boats, hoping to pick up scraps of fish. They may be seen out over the ocean just about anywhere on Aruba but are especially common in the harbor in Orenjestad.
